Purpose of using WAB6403221040:

  • Apply braking force – pushes the brake pads against the rotor to slow or stop the vehicle.
  • Provide controlled braking – allows the driver to regulate braking force through the air-brake system.
  • Distribute pressure evenly – helps apply the brake pads evenly to the rotor.
  • Dissipate heat – transfers and helps manage heat generated by friction during braking.
  • Maintain braking performance – works with the automatic adjustment mechanism to compensate for brake-pad wear.
  • Improve vehicle safety – provides reliable braking for heavy-duty trucks, buses, trailers, and other commercial vehicles.

Signs of a Bad Air Disc Brake Caliper WAB6403221040:

  • Reduced braking performance – The vehicle takes longer to stop or braking feels weaker.
  • Uneven brake pad wear – One pad wears significantly faster than the other.
  • Brake dragging – The brake does not fully release, causing constant friction.
  • Overheating – Excessive heat or a burning smell can come from the affected wheel.
  • Pulling during braking – The vehicle may pull to one side when the brakes are applied.
  • Unusual noises – Grinding, squealing, clicking, or rubbing sounds may occur.
  • Brake pad or rotor damage – A sticking or malfunctioning caliper can cause accelerated wear or rotor discoloration.
  • Air leakage – Damaged seals or connections can cause an air leak around the brake actuator/caliper assembly.
  • Caliper movement problems – The caliper may become stuck or fail to move correctly on its guides.
  • Brake warning indicators – Some vehicles may activate brake-system warning lights when a related fault is detected.
