Description:
A Diesel Particulate Filter A055F100 (DPF) assembly is an emissions control component designed to trap and remove soot (particulate matter) from the exhaust gases of diesel engines before they exit the tailpipe. Diesel Particulate Filter EPA17, MX11, MX13, work condition, used take-off Kenworth T880 2024

Part Number
: A055F100
Condition: Used
Manufacture/Brand: Paccar

Fits A055F100 For Kenworth / Peterbilt trucks with PACCAR MX‑13, 11 engines

Specifications For A055F100:

Material: Stainless Steel
Exhaust Emission Norm: EPA17
Dimensions: 9.63" L x 14.45" W x 14.45" H
Diameter: 14.45"

Purpose of using A055F100:

1. Reduce Air Pollution

Captures up to 85–95% of black carbon (soot) particles.
Prevents the release of fine particulate matter (PM) that contributes to smog, asthma, and lung disease.

2. Meet Emissions Regulations

Required to comply with:
EPA (U.S.)
CARB (California Air Resources Board)
Euro 5/6, and other international standards.
Without a working DPF, a diesel vehicle will fail emissions tests and may trigger legal or operational restrictions.

3. Improve Environmental Responsibility

Reduces the visual and environmental impact of diesel exhaust.
Makes diesel engines cleaner and more acceptable in urban and regulated areas.

4. Support Other Emission Systems

Works in conjunction with:
DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) – pre-treats exhaust and raises temperature.
SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) – reduces NOx gases downstream.
A clean DPF helps ensure the entire aftertreatment system functions properly.

5. Maintain Engine Efficiency

Helps keep exhaust backpressure within normal limits.
A well-maintained DPF contributes to optimal engine performance and fuel economy.

Signs of a Bad Diesel Particulate Filter A055F100:

1. Check Engine Light or Emissions Warning

MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) or DPF warning light comes on.
Common fault codes:
P242F – DPF restriction
SPN 3251 FMI 0 – DPF excessive soot
P2459 – Frequent regens

2. Frequent or Failed Regenerations

Engine enters regen mode too often, or the regens fail to clean the filter.
You may see a “DPF Full” or “Service Required” message on the dash.

3. Engine Overheating or High Exhaust Temps

A blocked DPF increases exhaust backpressure and heat.
May lead to high EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) and overheating issues.

4. Loss of Power or Acceleration

A clogged DPF creates exhaust restriction, causing:
Poor throttle response
Decreased torque
Reduced top speed

5. Poor Fuel Economy

The engine burns extra fuel during frequent regeneration cycles.
Backpressure forces the engine to work harder, lowering MPG.

6. Limp Mode or Engine Derate

Severe soot loading may cause the truck to derate power or go into limp mode to prevent damage.
Regen may be disabled until DPF is cleaned or replaced.

7. Strong Diesel Smell or Visible Smoke

A cracked or internally failed DPF may allow soot or unburned fuel to escape.
You might notice:
Black smoke (rare with working DPF)
Diesel smell in the cab or near the stack

8. Abnormal Backpressure Readings

High readings from differential pressure sensors signal soot buildup or flow restriction.
May trigger codes like:
SPN 3719 FMI 0 – Soot level too high
P2463 – DPF soot accumulation
