Purpose of using 68143491

1. Prevents wheel lock-up

The hydraulic unit rapidly adjusts brake pressure so the wheels keep turning instead of skidding.

2. Maintains steering control
Because the wheels don’t lock, you can still steer around obstacles while braking.

3. Reduces stopping distance on many surfaces
By preventing skids, the vehicle can stop more consistently and efficiently.

4. Stabilizes the vehicle
ABS hydraulic modulation helps keep the car stable during sudden or emergency stops.

5. Works automatically
The hydraulic unit responds faster than a human can, pumping the brakes many times per second.

Signs of a Bad Anti-Lock Brake Hydraulic 68143491

1. ABS Warning Light On

The most common symptom.
Your dashboard ABS light comes on and stays lit.

2. Brake Pedal Feels Weird

You may notice:

  • Spongy or soft pedal

  • Pedal sinks to the floor

  • Pulsating pedal even when ABS shouldn’t activate

  • Hard or stiff pedal

3. Brakes Lock Up

If the unit can’t modulate pressure:

  • Wheels may lock up during hard braking

  • Car can skid or slide

4. ABS Engages at the Wrong Time

The ABS might activate:

  • At low speeds

  • On dry pavement

  • For no reason
This means the hydraulic valves may be sticking.

5. Brake Fluid Leaks

A failing hydraulic unit can leak:

  • Near the ABS unit (under the hood)

  • Along brake lines connected to it
Low fluid can cause poor braking performance.

6. Pump Motor Runs Constantly

If the pump inside the ABS unit fails to regulate pressure:

  • You may hear a buzzing or humming sound that doesn’t stop

7. Longer Stopping Distance

If the hydraulic valves can’t control pressure correctly, braking efficiency goes down.
