Description:
A Fuel Injection Control Module (FICM) 1845117C2 is an electronic module that controls how and when fuel injectors fire in certain engines—most commonly diesel engines.

Part Number: 1845117C2, 1845117C3, 1845117C4
Condition: New
Manufacture/Brand: International

Fits 1845117C2 For Ford E-350 Club Wagon 2004-2005, F-250/350 Super Duty 2003-2007, International 4400
Engine: DT466E, VT365, and VT275, Ford 6L

Purpose of using 1845117C2:

1. Control Fuel Injector Operation

  • The FICM sends electrical signals to open and close the fuel injectors at the exact right moment.

2. Boost Electrical Power for Injectors

  • Some injectors require higher voltage than the main computer provides.

  • The FICM increases the voltage so injectors can fire quickly and properly.

3. Improve Engine Performance

  • Accurate fuel delivery helps the engine produce better power, smoother acceleration, and stable idle.

4. Improve Fuel Efficiency

  • By injecting the exact amount of fuel needed, the engine avoids wasting fuel.

5. Reduce Emissions

  • Precise injection timing helps the engine burn fuel more completely, reducing pollutants and helping systems like the Exhaust Gas Recirculation System work properly.

6. Work With the Engine Computer

  • The FICM works together with the Engine Control Module (ECM).

    • ECM: decides how much fuel is needed.

    • FICM: provides the power and timing to fire the injectors.

Signs of a Bad Fuel Injection Control Module 1845117C2:

1. Hard Starting

  • The engine may take longer to start, especially when cold.

  • Sometimes it will crank but not start at all.

2. Rough Idle

  • The engine may shake or idle unevenly because the injectors are not firing correctly.

3. Engine Misfires

  • You may feel jerking or hesitation while driving.

  • This happens when injectors don’t receive proper signals.

4. Loss of Power

  • The vehicle may feel sluggish or weak during acceleration.

5. Poor Fuel Economy

  • Incorrect injector timing can cause the engine to use more fuel than normal.

6. Check Engine Light

  • The check engine light may turn on due to injector control issues detected by the Engine Control Module.

7. Excessive Exhaust Smoke

  • You may see white, black, or gray smoke from the exhaust if fuel isn’t burning correctly.

8. Engine Stalling

  • The engine may stall unexpectedly, especially at idle or low speeds.
