Condition: Used Take Off, Work Condition
Manufacture/Brand: Eaton

Fits 4306008
For HX620, DD15

Purpose of using 4306008:

1. Connects and Aligns the Engine and Transmission

  • Keeps both units perfectly centered.

  • Ensures the transmission input shaft lines up correctly with the engine’s crankshaft.

  • Prevents vibration and premature wear.

2. Protects Internal Components

The bell housing encloses important rotating parts such as:

  • Flywheel or flexplate

  • Clutch (manual transmission)

  • Torque converter (automatic)

  • Starter ring gear

It shields these from dirt, debris, and physical damage.

3. Provides a Mounting Point for the Starter Motor

  • The starter bolts to the bell housing.

  • It engages the flywheel/flexplate inside the housing to crank the engine.

4. Supports Torque Transfer Components

The bell housing is the chamber where the actual connection between engine and transmission happens.
This includes:

  • Clutch engagement/disengagement (manual)

  • Torque converter function (automatic)

5. Adds Structural Support

  • Strengthens the transmission assembly.

  • Helps keep everything rigid under engine torque.

Signs of a Bad Transmission Bell Housing 4306008:

1. Cracks or Visible Damage

Hairline cracks or broken mounting ears
Oil spots or fluid leaks coming from cracks
If the housing is cracked, alignment between the engine and transmission is lost.

2. Misalignment Problems

A warped or cracked bell housing can cause:
Hard shifting
Transmission going in and out of gear
Vibrations when driving
Clutch engagement issues (manual)

3. Grinding or Scraping Noises

If the bell housing is bent or broken, parts inside may rub or not sit straight:
Grinding when starting
Scraping sounds when clutch is pressed
Torque converter rubbing or misaligned (automatic)

4. Starter Motor Problems

Because the starter mounts to the bell housing, damage can cause:
Starter grinding
Starter not engaging the flywheel correctly
Loud clicking or clashing noises
Repeated starter failure

5. Fluid Leaks

Cracks or loose mounting points can cause:
ATF leaks (automatic transmissions)
Gear oil leaks (manual)
Leaks around the input shaft area

 6. Clutch Problems (Manual Transmissions)

A damaged bell housing can cause:
Uneven clutch wear
Clutch dragging or slipping
Difficulty putting the car in gear
Vibration during clutch engagement

7. Shaking or Vibrations

Misalignment between engine and transmission leads to:Driveline vibration
Shaking at idle or under acceleration
Premature wear of mounts and bearings

8. Transmission Not Sitting Straight

If the bell housing mounting points break or bend:
Transmission hangs crooked
Bolts won’t line up properly
Gap between engine and transmission
