Purpose of using K109962:

  • Stop the vehicle: It creates friction between the brake pads and rotor.
  • Control speed: It helps slow heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses.
  • Convert air pressure into braking force: The compressed air from the air-brake system activates the caliper.
  • Provide even braking: It applies pressure to the brake pads on both sides of the rotor.
  • Handle heavy loads: Air disc brake systems are designed for the high braking demands of commercial vehicles.

Signs of Bad Air Disc Brake Caliper K109962

  • Vehicle pulls to one side when braking — one caliper may not be applying or releasing properly.
  • Brake stays partially applied — the wheel may feel like the brake is dragging.
  • One wheel is much hotter than the others — a sticking caliper can cause excessive heat.
  • Uneven or rapid brake-pad wear — one pad may wear much faster than the other.
  • Reduced braking performance — the vehicle takes longer to stop.
  • Grinding or unusual brake noises — can occur when pads or caliper components are damaged.
  • Brake rotor gets extremely hot or discolored — often a sign of dragging brakes.
  • Air or brake-fluid leakage — depending on the specific brake system and caliper/actuator setup.
  • Caliper doesn't move or return properly — the mechanism may be seized, damaged, or contaminated.
  • Excessive play or looseness around the caliper components.
