Description:
An Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) 04568079 valve reduces harmful nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by recirculating a portion of the engine’s exhaust gases back into the intake manifold. This lowers combustion temperatures, improving emissions and engine efficiency. It is controlled electronically or by vacuum and is essential for meeting environmental regulations.

Part Number
: 04568079
Condition: New
Manufacture/Brand: Detroit Diesel

Fits 04568079 For Mercedes‑Benz / EvoBus / Atego / Unimog trucks with engines in the OM906, OM924, OM926 families. Also used in MBE 900 / 902 / 904 / 906 / 924 / 926 engine variants (from approximately 2002–2006 era), Freightliner MT45 trucks (2004 onward) equipped with those engines.

Purpose of using 04568079:

  • Reduce NOx emissions: By lowering combustion temperature, it prevents formation of these pollutants.

  • Improve fuel efficiency: In some engine designs, EGR can improve fuel economy by allowing the engine to run more efficiently.

  • Decrease engine knocking: Helps prevent premature ignition by cooling the combustion process.

  • Help meet emission regulations: Vital in meeting strict environmental laws globally.
