Description:
A fuel injection rail 2185362 (often just called a “fuel rail”) is a component in a fuel injection system that distributes pressurized fuel to the engine’s injectors. 2185362 acts as a manifold or shared conduit between the fuel supply and multiple fuel injectors. Fuel Injection Rail MX-13, EPA21 For Kenworth T880, T680, work condition, used take-off Kenworth T880 2024
Part Number: 2185362, 2185362PE
Condition: Used
Manufacture/Brand: Paccar
Fits 2185362 For Kenworth T880, T680, Peterbilt (With Paccar MX13)
Purpose of using 2185362:
|
The fuel pump (or a high‑pressure pump in modern systems) supplies fuel at a high, regulated pressure. That pressurized fuel feeds into the fuel rail, which maintains a stable pressure and distributes fuel to all the injectors. Each fuel injector is connected to the rail and draws fuel from it when it opens, injecting fuel into the intake air (or directly into the combustion chamber, depending on engine design). The rail often has additional components such as a fuel pressure sensor, pressure relief or control valve, and sometimes a return line (in return‑type systems). In common‑rail diesel systems, the “rail” is a high‑pressure accumulator that decouples fuel pressure generation from injection events. The injectors are controlled electronically, and the rail holds the high pressure so each injector can fire independently of pump stroke timing. |
