Purpose of using DL3Z-2C215-B:

1. Prevent wheel lock-up

  • During hard braking, wheels can stop rotating and skid.

  • The hydraulic assembly modulates brake fluid pressure to prevent this.

  • Result: safer braking and shorter stopping distance on slippery surfaces.

2. Maintain steering control

  • If wheels lock, you lose the ability to steer.

  • ABS hydraulic assembly adjusts pressure to keep wheels turning just enough for steering.

3. Support ABS and stability systems

  • Works with the ABS control module to activate brakes individually.

  • Enables Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and traction control in modern cars.

4. Balance braking pressure

  • Can increase, decrease, or hold pressure at individual wheels.

  • Prevents over-braking on one wheel and keeps braking smooth and controlled.

5. Improve safety on slippery surfaces

  • Wet, icy, or uneven roads can cause skidding.

  • The hydraulic assembly reacts hundreds of times per second to maintain grip.

Signs of a Bad ABS Hydraulic Assembly DL3Z-2C215-B
:

1. ABS warning light stays on

  • Most common and earliest warning

  • Indicates a fault in the ABS system, often the hydraulic unit

2. Brake pedal feels abnormal

  • Spongy, soft, or low brake pedal

  • Hard or unresponsive brake pedal

  • Pulsations even when ABS isn’t active

3. Unusual brake behavior during stopping

  • Brakes lock up under hard braking

  • Uneven braking between wheels

  • Car pulls to one side while braking

4. Noise from the brake system

  • Pumping or whirring sounds when braking

  • Usually caused by the pump or solenoids inside the hydraulic unit

5. Reduced ABS performance

  • ABS doesn’t activate when it should (e.g., slippery surfaces)

  • Skidding occurs even though ABS light is off

6. Multiple ABS or brake system fault codes

  • OBD-II codes like:

    • C0220–C1234 (wheel sensor/valve/pump errors)

    • C0265, C0275 (hydraulic unit solenoid faults)

  • Codes may point directly to the ABS hydraulic unit
