Purpose of using TDAS4725002230:

1. Prevent losing control when braking (ABS)

When a truck brakes hard, especially on wet or icy roads, the wheels can lock up. That can cause skidding or even jackknifing.

  • ABS prevents the wheels from locking
  • Keeps the truck steerable during emergency braking
  • Helps the driver maintain control instead of sliding

2. Prevent wheel spin when accelerating (ATC)

When starting from a stop or accelerating on slippery surfaces, the drive wheels can spin and lose grip.

  • ATC detects slipping wheels
  • Automatically reduces engine power or applies braking
  • Restores traction so the truck moves smoothly

Why the full package matters

Because it’s built specifically for the tractor’s drive axles, the system:

  • Improves traction under load (important for hauling freight)
  • Reduces risk of jackknifing or fishtailing
  • Increases driver safety and confidence
  • Helps protect tires and drivetrain from excessive wear

Signs of a Bad TDAS4725002230:

1. ABS or ATC warning lights stay on

  • Dashboard lights don’t turn off after startup
  • Indicates a fault in sensors, wiring, or control module
  • Often the first and most obvious sign

2. Wheels locking up during braking

  • Truck skids during hard stops
  • Loss of steering control when braking
  • Means ABS isn’t functioning properly

3. Excessive wheel spin when accelerating

  • Drive wheels spin on wet, icy, or loose surfaces
  • Truck struggles to gain traction from a stop
  • Suggests ATC is not engaging

4. Uneven or erratic braking

  • Pulsing feels abnormal or inconsistent
  • One axle or side brakes harder than the other
  • Could point to faulty wheel-speed sensors or modulators

5. Reduced traction in normal conditions

  • Slipping even when conditions aren’t that bad
  • System not correcting loss of grip like it should

6. Fault codes or diagnostic alerts

  • Codes related to wheel speed sensors, ABS module, or ATC
  • Typically found during a scan or inspection

7. Unusual noises during braking

  • Grinding, clicking, or rapid pulsing from wheels
  • Can indicate ABS components malfunctioning
